Lymphatic Drainage Treatments

Your lymph system is the hard working, unsung hero of your body.  It is an essential part of your immune system, removing cellular waste and toxins from your tissues, processing them in your lymph nodes before returning the treated fluid back into your bloodstream, ready to start again.  But sometimes our lymph system needs a little help.   Stress, poor nutrition, ageing, lack of exercise, surgery or illness are just a few things which can slow the system down.  This is where Manual Lymphatic Drainage comes in.  This extremely gentle, yet powerful treatment stimulates the movement of the fluid through specific techniques, performed by a trained therapist into healthy undamaged lymph nodes, alleviating swelling and decreasing the risk of infection.

Is Lymphatic Drainage for Me?

Anyone can benefit from this amazing treatment but it is especially helpful for those with Lymphoedema or a compromised lymphatic system due to surgery after cancer, such as a Mastectomy and Axillary lymph node removal.  For people at risk of or living with Lymphoedema, Complex Decongestive Therapy (CDT) may be required especially in the early stages to manage and reduce the swelling.

It is also recommended for those about to undergo surgery such as hip or knee reconstructions and is especially helpful pre and post operatively for cosmetic surgery and liposuction.

People living with Lipodema have also had great success with regular MLD treatments.
