Save money and your enviornment by making your own completely natural yet effective surface spray, perfect for keeping your surfaces germ free and smelling great.
- 1/2 cup distilled white vinegar
- 1/2 cup water
- 12-24 drops of essential oil
Simply add to a clean spray bottle and start using. Here are a few suggestions on which oils to use for your spray:
- Lavender and tea tree
- Lavender and orange
- Lavender and peppermint
- Lemon Scented Eucalyptus
How it works:
The low pH and acetic acid content of vinegar make it perfect at stopping microorganisms in their tracks. Also, the essential oils add powerful antibacterial, antiviral, and antifungal qualities to your all-purpose cleaner, making it perfect for combatting germs and mold while you clean! Also, the high acidity level of vinegar can loosen mineral deposits, such as limescale and calcium, perfect for getting rid of soap scum.
WARNING: Do not mix any vinegar solutions with bleach as this can create a toxic gas, so before using your new surface spray, check to make sure you aren’t mixing it with any bleach-based cleaning products, such as drop-in toilet bowl cleaners or bleach cleaners.
